Impact of UKKCA

UKKCA is in it’s 14th year of existence and all UK Knanaya leaders are fully geared to elect their 7th executive committee, which is very encouraging. UK Knannaites are growing stronger in their financial and social status, but whether  UKKCA as an organisation is gaining a similar growth is much debatable.

Happened to read a few comments posted on various Knanaya social medias, promoting future knanaya leaders. One of them states “All leaders are ready for the election, “Common knannaites are not interested with UKKCA elections”, which is contradictory. This could be a casual comment but thought provoking and likely to create deep impact on those members who still love UKKCA, to see it’s growth as a charitable knanaya organisation, facilitating both physical and spiritual needs of  it’s members.

Many of you might be aware that the word  Impact,  which is gaining rapid momentum in volunteering sector. In recent years, there has been a sea change in impact measurement by charities, voluntary organisations and social enterprises. Less than a decade ago it was little-used and ill-defined, but now it has greater importance.

Knannaites all over the world will not compromise on their customs, traditions, beliefs and their centuries old most beloved culture and unity. Beginning from AD 345, Knannaites have succeeded in every part of their life including successful migration to different parts of the world. All these migrations were led by lay people with creative and innovative thinking skills, right from the original migration across continents, Malabar migration and so on. Knannaites remained together to achieve this success at every place through similar active community associations like UKKCA.  Most of these community associations positively contributed not only our community growth but also to develop its members skills. Therefore it’s good for all Knannaites to  re-examine the impact of UKKCA on it’s common members,

UKKCA is a national registered charity, with written and defined objectives,  this charity status is given to those organisations with a charitable purpose. Charity Commission for England and Wales could establish the charity purpose of UKKCA, thereafter the charitable status was awarded, this charity status is valid only in England and Wales, not in Scotland and Northern Ireland. Majority of the charitable organisations are very dear to its members; they love supporting it and utilise all opportunities to promote their loved organisation. And if this is not true for UKKCA, then its charitable objectives are not being achieved and thus UKKCA should be revising it’s programs or activities to look after it’s members interest and welfare.
