Endogamy: When Lie BecomesTruth

Lies becoming truth is hardly a strange phenomenon. It has been, in fact, practiced to perfection by politicians and by those in the business of politicizing religion. Jews, Christians, Muslims, Emperor Constantine, Hitler, W. Bush, Putin, Vatican, and religious and political historians - in reference to lies of international significance - would be a few who come to mind easily as masters of this art.

Why does Endogamy feature among the roster of lies? Because it is the grand untruth. It is yet another cause in the politicizing of religion for the sustenance of a few salivating for power in the Church, aided by those in the community, equally corrupt, for their own petty ends.

The comic relief in the logic presented by the pro-endogamy group lies in the nature of their argument which is more contorted than the convulsions in an epileptic event. They can be lumped together with the Muslim faithfuls who believe that the Earth is only 6000 years old. Carbon-dating has proven matters otherwise conclusively; but does it matter when lying becomes a virtue?! The Christian orthodoxy can join their radical Muslim brethren and reject evolution and advocate for the curriculum of Creationism in schools: Why not, for distortion of facts is something that has long comforted them into a good night's sleep.

The Knanaya pro-endogamy group is part of this elite and exclusive lying club.

Cited below is an excerpt from Sam Harris, an eminent US neuroscientist, describing the typical anti-logic 'logic' that was espoused by the radical Sheikhs in a convention of the Muslims in Norway. This is the brainwashing technique that washes well with those who are logically challenged.

Quote:
Islam Net, an organization in Norway, invited 9 speakers to Peace Conference Scandinavia 2013. The Chairman of Islam Net, Fahad Ullah Qureshi asked the audience, and the answer was clear. The attendees were common Sunni Muslims. They did not consider themselves as radicals or extremists. They believed that segregation was the right thing to do, both men and women agreed upon this. They even supported stoning or whatever punishment Islam or prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) commanded for adultery or any other crime. They even believed that these practises should be implemented around the world. Now what does that tell us? Either all Muslims and Islam is radical, or the media is Islamophobic and racist in their presentation of Islam. Islam is not radical, nor is Muslims in general radical. That means that the media is the reason for the hatred against Muslims, which is spreading among the non-Muslims in western countries.
Unquote:

Is radicalism defined by content that is pre-historic, or by people who wish to import those pre-historic prescriptions into current times where they are seen as barbaric? By their argument, if all Muslims believe in honour killing, then those who oppose it necessarily have to be the radicals and extremists!

This is the irony of the anti-logic of the Knanaya pro-endogamy group. This practice may have existed over 2000 years ago. It may have been part of the historical legacy of the Knanaya people. But, when their own bishops and those in the Church on the Indian sub-continent side of matters are unlikely to show an ancestral lineage without cross-pollination with the original Indian host residents, what legitimacy does this claim hold for those crowing about it? This group belongs to the '6000-year Earth Club'. The science of carbon-dating and DNA analyses holds little merit for them. Their unwitting or wilful endorsement of the grand lie shall be their sole claim to the fiction called, endogamy. And, as per the anti-logic presented at Islam Net, those who oppose this lie shall lose the privilege of being part of the fiction!

The response to George Poozhikala's post asking whether calling one's father "appa" was based on "parambariyam" or "tradition" exemplifies the preferential and virtuous treatment the Knanaya pro-endogamy camp gives superficial content over hardcore facts.

Since when is "parambariyam" or "tradition" deemed synonymous and/or interchangeable with facts? Only when the lie becomes a convenient and biased truth.

  1. There are conspiracy theorists that question and doubt just about anything and everything in this world. For example there are people, who question the authenticity of the video footage of Neil Armstrong landing on the moon, doubt the number of shooters in the Kennedy assassination, claims sighting of UFOs, government conspiracy behind 911 attacks, question the sincerity of Gandhi, above all doubting GOD himself! So, it should not be a surprise to us when people try to question the existence of the Knanaya Community.

In this information age, these theorists will claim credibility based on theories developed through internet reasearch and assumptions based on it, no matter what the evidence, old age wisdom, customs, practices and traditions indicates. There will always be Alex Chettanmar to spread it and possibly give a sense of intelectually superior feelings to some of them.

  2. Alex Chetta, I had submitted the below comment few days ago. I know this is your kingdom and its your rules, but I thought you would publish reasonable comments. Did I annoy you with the Alex Chettan sentence in the below comment? Just curious>
